It was so cold this morning.....
Today (sat) is a work day, cuz we had a day off from school on may 5th. You already know im pissed.
But it gets better....May we were on the second shift, so I could look forward to sleeping in late and class in the afternoon. BUT for today the school decided we should be on the first shift. Class at 7:30 AM. im extra salty.
Oh wait, did I mention how cold it is today. At 7:30 AM while I was shiverin in my black bomber jacket and luggin my bag, i just wasnt in the mood. I just kept thinkin how I DID NOT want to work. AND how I was hopin that since it was so damn early, not many students would come. Horrible, I know.
BUT I just watched Jeremih's video for Birthday Sex, and damnit was that joint steamy. I almost (no disrepect Poppa) wished that was me in the video. He is sexy as hell and the song is hot. Uumm folks, Ima need yall to google that video, youtube it or somethin. Just get on it ASAP!
One more class and im free to go home, lay around and watch tennis in my undies. Oh and pack for Greece tomorrow (where Ill be on the beach taking a break from work).
Sorry you cant be me Bitches!!!!

Sonnet #18
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee
Just thought Id put yall up on a lil Shakespeare. This is his sonnet #18 and I thought it was just amazing. The 10 class and I worked on Shakespeare a lil. Man, I wish someone would write something like this for me (insert Poppa here).
Just an FYI, he wrote this to a man and it is speculated that it was his lover altho Shakespeare was married with kids. But hey, what the hell does that matter these days.....
*singing: So live ya life eeh eeh eeh eeh*

June is for STARS
Well Well Well, that special time of year is upon us folks, yep you guessed it MY BIRTHDAY. The most glorious day that brought about the birth of the great one, Lady Sha Sha herself, or Shantay to most of you. It is said that the heavens parted, and she descended upon Earth wraps in the softest of silks, with a white light about her. She was given to a man and women to call their daughter and blessed this world with her beauty and wit.
Now I dont know where this came from, or who said this, but damnit they hit the nail on the head!
Anyway, Ive decided that since my birthday is coming up June 16 (for those who are in the dark) I should post some old pics of me, and share some fun facts about my self that will interest you. Ill be featuring pics from my college years, up til recently, and be sharing things about my childhood and other facts that I know you all are dying to read about.
Let the festivities begin bitches!!!!!
Oh and because I do believe that June is for stars, Id like to shout out all the Gemini's (hey EZ) and June babies including my big sis (June 10) and my other mom (June 21). If you have a b-day in June list your date so I can shout you out to, cuz your almost as important as me!
Believe in you!

Shocked....
One of my students asked me yesterday if I will be here next year. I was a lil bit confused by the questions and didnt know what to say. Then she said will I teach her class next year. I tried to explain that I wasnt sure but probably would. I actually answered in BG (and she understood) whcih put a smile on my face.
She must not read my blog tho, thank goodness. She is from the 9g class. And altho she is one of the more serious students, its no big secret that I kinda despise that class and wish they would all die....hahahahahaha just kiddin. But I do think that as 10 graders next year they will be shocked at all the work that they will have to do. I must give my 10 g credit cuz we did a lot of work this year and they worked very hard. The 9g kinda had a more leisure year cuz I didnt have much work from the textbook to do with them. I was kinda confused as to what I should have been teaching them where as with the 10g I had an entire section of the textbook. That meant that i worked from the textbook, but also had a guideline to use just in case I wanted to steer away from the textbook (which I did a few times). I didnt have to use the activities in the textbook, but could do different ones that got the same message across through more fun and interesting activities. AND the 10g were more serious and more willing to work.
Anyway, I think the thought of being here another year teaching that class kinda caught me off guard....lol

Greece=the beach
A good friend and colleague of mine invited me on a trip to Greece with her and her students. She teaches the 8g and wanted take them on a school trip when the weather was nice. I decided it might be fun, esp since we are going June 1-3 which are school days. And just in case you are extra slow, that means I get to miss 3 whole days of work.....let the excitement begin!!!!
The trip is relatively cheap. We are going by bus to a place called Olympic Beach, not to far from Thessaloniki. What I wasnt paying attention to tho, is the fact that its not only called Olympic Beach (as in the name of the town/city we will be) it actually is a damn beach. Which again if you are as slow as I am, means that people will be swimming.......with bathing suits on......
Why is this cause for alarm you ask? Well I was so damn excited cuz I lost 14 pounds, I stopped paying attention to what I was eating. Which in the past few weeks has been damn near everything in sight. I KNOW Ive gained weight and I am certain I will look absolutely disgusting in a bathing suit. And unlike those people who are comfortable showing their jelly rolls, fat stomachs and thunder thighs, clearly wearing bikinis when they should be wearing XXXL tees and shorts, I WILL NOT embarrass myself.
Now truth be told, I havent had a beach body in years. And I mean in years. The last time I even owned a bathing suit was in high school. I went to Virginia Beach with my fam. We took pics and when I saw how big my stomach looked, I almost threw up in my mouth. I was more alarmed at the fact that no one bothered to let me know how horrible I looked (image means a lot to me if you havent noticed).
I bought a bathing suit when I first got to site cuz I thought I might go to the beach. It didnt turn out that way and the bathing suit still has the damn tags on them. I dont know if I should bring it or not to Greece, but just know if I do, Im for damn sure covering up with a tee shirt of some sort to hide my huge stomach!!

Your own Katmandu
'You really must become a writer,'' she said. 'And you must get out of this deadly town, too-as soon as you can. You must find what I should have had the courage to look for,' she said, 'what we should all have the courage to look for.'
"What is that?" I said.
Her answer was this: "Your own Katmandu."
--excerpt from Kurt Vonnegut's novel Deadeye Dick
We are reading 2 excerpts from this novel in my 10g class, and I thought this excerpt was amazing. I think a lot of time students lack encouragement from their teachers and parents. Sometimes our job as older people is to recognize and nuture talent we see in younger people. They need direction and help to understand and realize their full potential.
This made me think of myself when I was in high school. I pretty much was a well rounded kid: always got good grades, was ahead of my class in math and played sports. I had no idea what I wanted to do with myself going in to college but I knew I was interested in Japanese and traveling. It wasnt til I took freshman english that my teacher told me I wrote pretty well. I got an A in the class when most people (from what he said) only got B's and C's. I never really paid much attention to this tho. Then in my senior year I took a Black Studies course that involved writing and the teacher told me that I wrote exceptionally well. I took an independent studies course with her the next semester and we developed my writing skills. Had someone told me prior to this and more improtantly had I listened, I think I would have double majored in International studies and english. Ah well.....
This doesnt really apply to people who dont teach or work with youth I suppose. But it just occurred to me that sometimes younger people are so caught up in other things that they dont take notice to what's special about them and sometimes it takes an older more wiser person to point things out to them.
The second part of the excerpt was kinda wack. The boy tells his parents that he wants to be a writer and they encourage him to do otherwise. He ends up gettin a degree in pharmacy and ends up workin some deadend job selling watches, perfumes and cigs. Later he enters a playwright contest and wins. I wish I could read the entire book. It sounds interesting just from these 2 excerpts.
Well anyway, if you havent already done so, find out what makes you happy. A lot of times I think we are scared to follow our dreams, and be great. Or maybe just lazy and dont want to put in the effort to make our dreams come true.
Whatever the case, you should try to find your own katmandu at some point.....

Earth to Jason...
Ok Jason, just so that you stay in the loop, ive decided to run down the past few blog posts for you.
I recently posted a blog entitled "School is for what now..." in which I asked the students their thoughts on why they come to school everyday, and exactly what they should be doing. Well most of the responses were of course stifling to me cuz a lot of the replies were that in school a lot of the students sleep, play cards and basically do what they want with no repercussions. Mind you NOT ALL students do this, but most of the responses were like this. I posted the outsome of the discussion, and some kid (he left no name) posted a comment saying that the students were just a lil lazy, and that it might be hard to figure out that the students are just fucking tired at the end of the fuckin year....or something to that extent.
I responded to this particular comment in the next post entitled "In response" cuz I did not like that way this student commented on my original post.
Then I thought that I should make my blog private, but couldnt figure out how to do it, so I posted the question so someone could clue me in. But eventually I found it and made my blog private, but then thought that if it was private the student who wrote that comment wouldnt be able to read my response and its important that this person reads what I wrote. So I made my blog public again.....hahahahaha
sorry to confuse you......you havent posted anything recently......
