ME
So im gonna share the BEST year of my life since my wonderful birth, my time in JAPAN.
Altho overall Japan was fuckin amazing, it did have its ups and downs. Ill start from the beginning:
I was studying Japanese in HS and hated it. My jap teacher was a total bitch, on top of the fact that I had her class first period and was ALWAYS late. I failed japanese in 9th grade. But fortunately for me, that jap teacher left and there was someone new the next year. I decided that maybe I shouldnt be so lazy and actually think of how studyin jap might be good for me in the future. We had jap investors at my school who funded a free trip to jap every year and i assumed that cuz my grades were so bad and i had gotten into trouble a few times during 9th grade, I wouldnt qualify to go on the trip.
So I finally decided to apply during my junior year of hs and luckily I was chosen. I went to Tokyo for 9 days during the summer, and had the best time of my life. I KNEW I wanted to continue learning jap and decided that IF I went to college, it was compulsory for them to have a good jap program and study abroad there. I HAD to go back....
Im at OWU by now. I decided to apply for the Japan study program during my sophomore year and was so fuckin overjoyed when I got accepted (I think I still have the acceptance letter).I worked the entire summer to save money. My mom had a friend who lived there, so I went to Japan about 2 weeks early and stayed with her. We ate, drank and she took me sightseeing. I was hypnotized by the city.....
Enter school work here. The classes werent hard AT ALL. I mean they were fuckin easy to be honest. I disliked my jap teacher tho. As usual, out of about 40 people there was only me and one other black girl who was from the burbs. She was wack tho, so I dont even count her hahaha I became BFF with this gay dude (we atrract like maganets...hey JZ) and this girl names Malory. By the end of the first semester around X-mas time I had all a's and like 1 b.
It took me a while to get used to life in Tokyo. My host fam was ok, but they were always busy. I had 2 sis and 1 bro, and they were all older. But they went to school and worked, so it was usually just my host mom and I. She was extra sweet and we adored each other. But you know, some ol bullshit ALWAYS gotta go down.....
My laptop wouldnt play this movie I was DYIN to see, so I decided to watch it in the living room. It was on the weekend and it was already late, so I didnt think it would be a problem to watch it then go to bed. My host bro came to the kitchen to get something to drink and I guess I scared him. The next day my host mom knocked on my door and said to me that I was not allowed in the living alone. That I was welcome to go outside or stay in my room, but under any circumstances was I allowed in the living by myself. Now naturally I thought maybe I misunderstood, but then I said to myself, I know damn well what she said. I shrugged it off as being a weird Jap thing, but it honestly bothered me. I went ot my director at school and asked her about it, and she told me she never heard anything like that but she would call my host mom to see if I indeed heard correctly.
well wouldnt you know she called me into her office one day and sat me down. We had an american advisor come with us and teach at the university so she was there to. My advisor told me that I understood correctly. My host family gave me a list of house rules and thought they included that on the list, when they actually left it out. They didnt want me to steal anything valuable, so I was not allowed to be in the living room at all alone. When she told me that I broke down crying. I was so upset, disappointed, HURT, disgusted, sad, etc. We never resolved the issue. From them on I was so isolated and didnt EVER go into the living room. I went straight to my room after dinner and the fam barely saw me cuz my room dorr was always closed after that. I didnt to leave the fam and move somewhere else.......
Things got A LOT better after that! I started hanging out in clubs, workin a job, started dating someone, shopping more. I even stayed in a Buddhist temple with monks. But then I had to leave early becuz of some crazy Monk stalker (another story) who decided he fell in love with me (WTF?!?!). Oh then there was that time I was drunk and damn near passed out in the station. So many stories, so little time....hahahahaha
I came back to the statesm thinner, more feminine, humbled, and with just so much more experience under my belt. I fell in love with dresses, and showing off the natural curve of my body, shoes, make up, Raamen, sushi, designer handbags and a whole bunch of other superficial stuff. But also with a lot more knowledge and experience than I would ever have learned from a textbook!

I love you,
Ok k k,
Shout outs,
That's what Im talkin bout
Tear *tilts head and wipes right eye with one finger*
Today was relatively SMOOTH. I got back from Vratsa last night and went to bed early, knowing damn well I had work today at 7:30 AM. I got out the bed feeling sluggish, and I for damn sure did NOT want to go to work. But I figured, why deprive all the people of seeing my lovely face?!?! Anyway, I get to work and it went by DUMB fast. The 10g have a test next Tues. so we did test prep today and they had some free time after. After 2 class periods, I had 2 free classes and decided to visit my BF Vanya. I came in and she was kinda busy, but when she got a sec she jumped up and gave me a big hug. I was so surprised. We are always affectionate with each other, cuz I honestly feel like she is my grandma (VERY young grandma that is...) I said I missed her and we immediately started gossiping and talking about my time in Vratsa. The 2 free class periods went by quick. I played a game with the 9g, boys vs. girls. It started off kinda slow, but they started to get into it. After class the 2 kids who used to always come to my afterschool class showed up unexpectedly.
They said they had a surprise for me and wanted to go to a cafe if I was free. Luckily I only had those 3 classes today, so I was done. We went to the cafe and Lordy I was sweatin buckets on the way there it was so damn HOT.
We sit down and order juice of course (I dont condone drinkin with sutdents....before 1 PM lol) and Gabby gets up and says she will be right back. So im sitting with Yavor and we are talkin abd catching up, since they are done with school. Shortly after, Gabby returns with this BIG ASS bouquet of flowers (below) and I was totally blown away. They both said they wanted to thank me for teaching them this year. They said it really helped and they were really happy to have met me. I was so surprised and just blown away. I wasnt sure if I was helping them at all. It was just the 2 of them in the class and it was hard to do certain activities like games becuz there werent enough people. But I suppose you never know who you are reaching or having an emphasis on.
Well anyway, I just wanted to make sure I blogged about these 2 students. They are really smart, polite and just excellent students in general.
Eat your hearts out damnit!!!!!! I know none of you received anything from your worthless ass students (I meant that in the nicest way possible!)!!!!!!!

ME in my bathing suit
So I never thought Id EVER see the day, when I wore a bathing suit. Esp a bikini. I decided to just get it over with tho. I wore a cute black dress to the beach and when I got there, I covered myself with a sarong so I could play in the water and not have people stare at my fat. I lounged in a beach chair, and since you look thin when you lay flat, I decided to take the sarong off...Take a deep breath.....
In the dark...hahahaha
Not so bad....
Close up of the bathing suit
The best for last...Im glad this was taken whil eI was lying flat. I love that cameras can make you look so much better than you really do. And believe me, I was suckin in my stomach a whole lot for this pic....LOL I look thick as hell tho...go ME~

Greece Pics
As you all (should) know, I recently went to Greece as a school trip. It was interestingly enough extremely fun. I looked pretty decent in my swinsuit (altho when I was in the water I was COMPLETELY covered with a sarong tied at my neck). I roomed with one lady and her daughter who was just the cutest thing. Food was eehh. But the trip was all worth it cuz I came home with a pair of shoes (from the duty free shop at the border), oreos and cinnamon toast crunch cereal. Of course, Ill start with the most imporant pics, the ones of ME:
Always in the fashion loop. Yellow dress with embellished shoulder. Theres is a cute white and yellow flower you can barely see, but just know its in my hair....
Damn my teeth are white!!!!
Me frolicking on the beach. I like that word...frolicking....
We visited a waterfall .....

Me
Well since this is the month of stars, Ive decided to write about what else--MYSELF. Where to begin....
I was born in Harlem Hospital in 1985. From the pics Ive seen, I had a full head of hair and I was a GORGEOUS baby (no lie). My older sis Ray was 3 and her birthday is just 6 days before mine. My childhood is a blur, so Ill gloss over it. I will say tho that Ive seen pics of me and I went thru phases including an ugly duck phase. I also had complexion problems. In pics that Ive seen I was really light then in others I was really dark. Oh, and I had super long hair when I was younger. As the story goes, people had to stack several phone books on top of a chair so that they could braid my hair to the bottom.
So in high school I felt like a total space cadet. I never really had many friends, and I dont know if it was because I was weird or because I didnt like anyone. But I always remember being athletic and loving sports. In hs I played volleyball, basketball, and softball. I was really in shape and had a great body. I also loved participating in smart extracurricular activities. I came in first place 2 years in a row for story telling, Ive won numerous 24 competitions (a math game), 2nd place in the Spelling Bee, and I was on the Model UN Debate team. I actually thought being smart was cool, and I think it was kinda natural for me. I was in an advanced math class and I loved my physics class. BUT I had no direction. I didnt know what I wanted to do with my life and really had no idea what I could do. I didnt have a real role model and at times I felt really lost. My senior year I got out of school early and had a job. I missed my prom.......
College: Hooray!!! The first time Id really been outside of NY or away from home. My 4 years of college was amazing, and Im so glad for the experience. More to come soon.....

Karaoke in Pajamas!
So since there is a new group of vols here, several sessions are going on to help them get acclimated to BG and their future work here. I volunteered to do the session on diversity, since Im so damn diverse. They put me up in a nice hotel, in the middle of west bubba fuck, and tomorrow Im gonna do the session. Well Angel is here in the hotel, along with Emma and another vol. Angel had the fuckin idea of the Century, and brought his karaoke system. 2 mics, and a book full of song.
Uumm Karaoke, thats me all the way. I got put on to it when I was in Japan. Tey have these elaborate buildings devoted to Karaoke, with individual rooms where you can act a fool and sing your heart out! They even have menus so you can order booze and food. The Japanese are notorious for Karaoke and I grew to love it.
I have a few necessities that I MUST perform. My fav karaoke duet is "A whole new world" from the Aladdin movie. I also love to do Alicia Keys Diary, and Nelly Furtado Im like a bird. Well we are all partyin now, singing and jammin. We've already covered Envogue, Madonna, Nelly Furtado, Goo Goo Dolls, Escape, Nsync....a lot of 80s hits.
